Mold processing case – precision injection mold

Case introduction
The machining process of this precision injection mold involves the following key steps:
Mold roughing:
CNC milling is used to rough the mold steel blank, quickly remove excess material, and preliminarily form the mold cavity, runner, positioning hole and other basic structures; Cooling is carried out using cutting fluid during machining to avoid overheating and deformation of the material.

Precision Machining:
CNC precision milling: For high-precision areas such as mold cavities and inserts, small-diameter tools are used for precision milling to ensure the dimensional accuracy of cavity surfaces and holes.
EDM Machining: Precision forming is done through EDM corrosion for details that are difficult to machine by CNC in the deep cavity and narrow groove of the mold, ensuring the consistency of complex structures.

Post-treatment:
Polishing: Mirror polishing the surface of the mold cavity to improve the surface finish of the injection molded product;
Nitriding treatment: Enhance the hardness and wear resistance of mold steel through the surface nitriding process to extend the service life of the mold.
This mold is a multi-cavity injection mold suitable for mass production of small plastic parts:
The multi-cavity design can be injection molded into multiple products at one time, improving production efficiency;
Precision machining ensures the consistency of each cavity and controls the size error of the injection molded parts to a very small range.
Mold steel material + nitriding treatment, which can adapt to long-term high-frequency injection molding production and reduce maintenance costs.
